Is Bugs Bunny a cartoon genius?
We all may not know much about the Luney tunes or who the characters may be, but most of should already know who bugs bunny is. He’s one of the oldest and most famous of all time. Some of the other characters that are seen with him are usually considered his friends and enemies and he always finds a way to use them to his advantage, which bring me to my question… How does this rabbit outsmart these other characters? Well the only answer I could come up with is reverse psychology. Just watch the video and you will see what I mean. Bugs Bunny-Rabbit seasoning
There are many proven times when Bugs escapes a tough spot, a tight situation, or funny revenge scheme unscarred. From Elmer Fudd to Yosemite Sam to, who he considers his best friend, Daffy Duck he always comes out the winner. An example would be where Daffy Duck convinces Elmer Fudd it's rabbit season and puts up signs leading him to his friends home. When there, there is a little confusion, but Daffy fixes it up and tells Elmer there is a rabbit right in front of him. Bugs humbly admits he's a rabbit and says, " I'm a rabbit alright. Would you like to shoot me now or wait till you get home?" Daffy screams, "Shoot him now, shoot him now!" Then Bugs retaliates by saying, "You keep out of this, he doesn't have to shoot you now." Daffy not being calm and listening to what was just said says, "He does so have to shoot me now!" He rushes to Elmer and demands that he shoots him now... and he does. The funny this is that this happens more than once and Daffy falls for it over and over again.
Classic examples of reverse psychology in popular culture include a large, bright red button with a sign next to it saying "do not push," or a sign saying, "Jump at your own risk" and those who think they are being challenged usually do the opposite of what they’re told. Bugs Bunny, on many examples, has challenged others using this technique and at the end of the day he’s always on top. This rabbit, in my opinion, is a genius because of all the ideas he plans and tricks he plays in a second’s notice and it comes out successfully. I would like to see you escape tough situations and come out unscarred.
